Type of contract: Full-time position, 12 month contract, with potential to renew

Location: Remote (preferably UK, but open to candidates within ±3 hours of the UK time zone)

Remuneration: This position is subject to geographic pay differentials based on the employee's work location


ABOUT FINANCIAL INNOVATION FOR IMPACT

Financial Innovation for Impact (Fii) is an international, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the advancement of scalable, sustainable, and evidence-based financial and regulatory innovation. We work with academic institutions, digital finance ecosystem partners, and other stakeholders to create knowledge and apply data-driven insights to inform the development of fintech and the decision-making of central banks, securities regulators, and other financial authorities.

Fii generates research, develops digital tools, and delivers capacity building at scale through technical assistance programmes to benefit financially excluded, marginalised, and disadvantaged populations.


THE ROLE

The Operations Manager will ensure that Fii's core operational functions run smoothly and effectively.

This is a pivotal role in a small team, ensuring that our internal systems, processes, and resources enable us to deliver high-quality work and maximise our impact.

In this role you will manage key suppliers, strengthen our policies and procedures, and provide training and support on areas like supplier contracting, data protection, and travel management. You will play an important role in upcoming organisational changes, including mapping data ownership, reviewing contracts, and supporting the implementation of new systems such as a CRM.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage key supplier relationships and contracts, including IT support, travel agents, and (if UK‑based) our office provider.
  • Support the implementation and rollout of new systems such as a CRM and other digital tools.
  • Support the development and maintenance of operational policies and procedures, including data protection, business continuity and risk management.
  • Coordinate group travel bookings and ensure travel processes are followed.
  • Support organisational planning, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide training and day‑to‑day operational support across teams, helping troubleshoot issues and improve processes.


REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years' experience in operations management or a similar role, in a multi-country organisation.
  • Strong supplier and contract management skills.
  • Experience with procurement or vendor selection.
  • Good understanding of data protection requirements and confidence in supporting staff on these issues.
  • Ability to draft clear, practical policies.
  • Process mapping experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Clear communicator who can explain operational requirements in a straightforward way.
  • English language fluency


Desirable:

  • Experience implementing new systems (e.g. CRM or other operational platforms), including supporting remote user adoption.
  • Experience supporting organisational change or business transformation.
  • Understanding of international travel logistics and group travel coordination.
  • Familiarity with donor rules, grant agreements, and related operational requirements.
  • Experience supporting colleagues with cybersecurity guidance and training.
